It's dark and gorgeous, this city at night. It's so perfect for hunting. People pass through the streets drunk, and no one ever notices that they're missing. It's easy to find a homeless person, or some addict, to drink from. You can dump them in some back alley, and people think they just took too much, or did something else. No one ever gets close to the truth.

He couldn't have been more than 20, this one. He was drunk and high, stumbling through the streets to find another fix. Mousy brown falls down over his glazed over bloodshot eyes. The blue irises are foggy, but the red makes them overly obvious. I doubt he'd have anyone to care if he suddenly disappeared. He was a nobody, just some addict. Maybe a mother to care if he disappears, but not enough for him to get on the news. No one will be looking for him.

I walk up to the young man and smile at him, my hands deep in the pockets of my coat. "You look like you need another fix. I can get you that. But not here, we need privacy. We don't want either of us getting arrested, now, do we?" He looks down at me slightly shorter figure and nods, his eyes sparkling with the promise of another hit. It's sad how easily someone will follow you because of that burning need. So needy that they'll trust a complete stranger who could just be leading them to their death.

I weave through the thick crowds, him following me, a lost puppy dog with the promises of a bone. He's so easily led into one of the dead-end alley ways of Toronto. And once under the cover of  the shadows from the two buildings we're between, I push him to the rough brick wall.

"Give me one good reason not to drain the blood from your throat. Give me one good reason to spare your sorry excuse of a life." I growl, letting my meet his before pushing my fangs to his throat. I can feel his body trembling beneath the sharp points. Fear is causing his mind to sober up, to realize that he had made a stupid decision.

He thinks for a second before letting his eyes fall in defeat and replying, "I can't. There isn't a reason for you to spare me. There's no reason for me to continue living." Wait, what? Most people would've made up some lie by now, but instead he has tilted his head, making my access to his jugular easier. "Just make it quick, please."

I smile lightly against his throat, and sink my teeth into his vein, the sweet taste of his blood filling my taste buds.
